VAN BUREN — The Kenton High School track team split a dual meet with Van Buren on Tuesday as the Wildcats boys edged the host Knights 65-57 and the girls were defeated 80-58.

DOLA — The Riverdale girls were first and the Falcon boys were second in a five-team track meet at Hardin Northern on Tuesday afternoon.

SIDNEY — The Ridgemont softball team scored nine runs in the first inning and cruised from there on the way to a 17-1 win over Lehman Catholic on Tuesday night.

DUNKIRK — Hardin Northern’s Addy Bame opened the season by tossing a no-hitter as the Polar Bears defeated Kalida 10-0 in a run-shortened five-inning non-league softball contest on Tuesday afternoon.

CAREY — After dropping more than its fair share of close games last season on its way to a 7-14 record, the Carey baseball team could have felt destined to yet another one-run defeat in its season opener against Riverdale on Monday.

The Kenton tennis team had no problems with Upper Sandusky in its season-opener on Monday afternoon, sweeping the visitors 5-0 in season-opening action.
