CAREY — To start off a new season with an extra-inning victory against a rival is a good way to begin a campaign. With wind blowing in from center field, it was not an ideal day for many extra base hits.

RIDGEWAY — Lehman Catholic’s Nate Bosway opened the season by hurling a perfect game and the Cavaliers scored runs in every inning, including 11 in the third inning, on the way to a 20-0 victory over Ridgemont in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Monday afternoon.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Kenton overcame a slow start by scoring three runs in the second inning and adding four more in the fourth on the way to a 7-5 win over Upper Sandusky in a baseball season opener Monday.

DEGRAFF — The Ben Logan softball team overcame seven errors as it rallied from a six-run deficit in the fifth inning to pull out a 12-9 victory over host Riverside in season-opening action on Monday afternoon.

BELLEFONTAINE — Austin Cline tossed a one-hitter and Ben Logan scored single runs in the first and fourth innings on the way to a 2-0 win over North Union on Monday afternoon.

RIDGEWAY — The Ridgemont softball team took advantage of the inability of Lehman Catholic pitchers to find the strike zone on the way to a 15-5 season-opening victory on Monday afternoon.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Kenton 3-2 in season-opening softball action on Monday afternoon.

ARLINGTON — Arlington scored three runs in the second inning to take control Monday on its way to a 8-1 baseball victory over Upper Scioto Valley.

The Kenton Youth Wrestling Club handed out awards after its inaugural season Thursday night. Isaiah Mundy and Anthony Hunt each won 19 matches to tie for the award for the most wins.
