Falcons shutout by Liberty-Benton 49-0

The Riverdale offense was stifled by Liberty-Benton in Friday night’s football contest, with the Eagles holding the Falcons scoreless in a 49-0 loss. The Falcons drop to 3-4 overall, 2-3 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Liberty-Benton remains perfect in the conference at 5-0 with a mark of 6-1 on the season.

HN hands Lehman first conference loss with 21-0 shutout

Owen Wetherill’s three touchdowns led hid Hardin Northern Polar Bears to a 21-0 victory over Lehman Catholic in Friday night’s football contest. The win improves the Polar Bears to 5-2 overall, 3-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. The loss is the Cavaliers’ first in the conference, giving them a mark of 3-1, 3-4 overall.

Lady Raiders 8th at DII girls tourney

The Ben Logan Lady Raiders ended day one of the Division II women’s golf state tournament at the Ohio State University Gray Course in eighth place on Friday with a team score of 347. Sydney Wesson shot a 75, Mailiis Simovart shot an 81, Gabrielle Schmidt shot a 91, Leeah Valentine carded a 100 and Willow Titus shot at 107.

Frey’s last minute goal gives Falcon boys NCOSA title

VAN BUREN — At the last minute — literally — the ball finally bounced Riverdale’s way. Logan Frey’s shot deflected off the bottom of the crossbar and down into the goal with just 49 seconds remaining to give the Falcons a 1-0 victory and the boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association championship Thursday at Van Buren.
