The Riverdale offense was stifled by Liberty-Benton in Friday night’s football contest, with the Eagles holding the Falcons scoreless in a 49-0 loss. The Falcons drop to 3-4 overall, 2-3 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Liberty-Benton remains perfect in the conference at 5-0 with a mark of 6-1 on the season.

Owen Wetherill’s three touchdowns led hid Hardin Northern Polar Bears to a 21-0 victory over Lehman Catholic in Friday night’s football contest. The win improves the Polar Bears to 5-2 overall, 3-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. The loss is the Cavaliers’ first in the conference, giving them a mark of 3-1, 3-4 overall.

Upper Scioto Valley was shut out by Lima Perry in Friday night’s game, with the Rams suffering a 42-0 loss in Northwest Central Conference football action. The Rams drop to 3-4 on the season, 1-3 in the NWCC. The Commodores remain perfect in the conference at 4-0, 4-3 overall.

The Ben Logan Lady Raiders ended day one of the Division II women’s golf state tournament at the Ohio State University Gray Course in eighth place on Friday with a team score of 347. Sydney Wesson shot a 75, Mailiis Simovart shot an 81, Gabrielle Schmidt shot a 91, Leeah Valentine carded a 100 and Willow Titus shot at 107.

VAN BUREN — At the last minute — literally — the ball finally bounced Riverdale’s way. Logan Frey’s shot deflected off the bottom of the crossbar and down into the goal with just 49 seconds remaining to give the Falcons a 1-0 victory and the boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association championship Thursday at Van Buren.

Elida defeated Kenton 25-16, 25-23, 25-14 in Western Buckeye League volleyball action on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats were led by Lacie Nichols with 13 digs, Jenna Manns with 13 assists, and Laney Harpel with 11 digs and 10 assists.

ELIDA — Four different players netted goals as Kenton defeated Elida 4-2 in its final regular season soccer game of the season on Thursday KP Miller, Riley Risner, Reed Cook and Nick Anderson all tallied goals for the Wildcats, who led 2-1 at halftime.
