The Ridgemont football team did not win a game in the first half of the season. Even so, Ridgemont coach Brian Claybaugh feels like the 0-5 Gophers are getting closer every week to getting that elusive first victory.

ST. PARIS — Graham defeated Ben Logan 4-1 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer matchup on Wednesday. Dylan Welch scored for the Raiders on a pass from Blaine Worden to give the Raiders an early lead, but Graham answered with two goals before halftime and added two more in the second half.

SUNBURY — Big Walnut scored four goals in the first half and cruised through the second half to a 5-0 win over Kenton in a non-conference girls soccer matchup on Wednesday night. The Wildcats are now 9-4-2 on the season.

The Kenton Middle School volleyball teams defeated Ridgemont on Wednesday night. The eighth grade Wildcats won 25-11, 25-9.

ADA — Paulding defeated Ada 25-18, 12-25, 25-23, 25-19 in Northwest Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night. Megan Light had 18 kills and 4 blocks to lead the Bulldogs at the net. She added 13 digs defensively.

BELLEFONTAINE — After dropping the first set, Ben Logan rallied to win the next three games for a 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 victory over Urbana on Tuesday night. Ben Logan improves to 13-6 overall and 6-1 in CBC Mad River Division play.

OTTAWA — The Kenton girls soccer team got second half goals from Sidney Plott and Hannah Holland to rally from a two-goal deficit for a 2-2 tie with Ottawa-Glandorf in a Western Buckeye League match on Tuesday. Trailing by two goals, the Wildcats got on the scoreboard with 12 minutes left when Plott scored off an assist from Gabi Wetherill.

LaRUE — Elgin swept Hardin Northern 25-10, 25-11, 25-15 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. Quinn Stewart-Evans had 7 digs, an ace and 2 kills and Renee Newton added 5 digs, 3 kills and 2 blocks to lead the Polar Bears.

Presale tickets for Friday’s Kenton High School home football game against St. Marys will be on sale in the KHS office from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $4. All tickets at the gate will be $7.
