Kenton X-country team to hold alumni race

The Kenton High School Cross Country team will be hosting an alumni race at 8 a.m. Saturday at Kenton High School. The race is free to all current Kenton cross country runners and any alumni that participated in the cross country program in the past (Donations will be accepted).

KMS volleyball tryouts begin

Kenton Middle School volleyball tryouts will be from from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. today and Friday and 3 from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at KMS. Any student-athlete wishing to try out must have a current physical. Physical forms may be turned in the first day of tryouts.

Elks Soccer Shoot winners

Two Kenton girls were crowned champions at the Ohio Elks State Soccer Shoot, held July 27 at Kids America Sports Complex in Coshocton. Abby Schlegel took first place in girls Under 8 and Ruby Styer was first in the girls Under 14 brackets. Both earned the right to compete against youngsters from six states at the Elks Mid-Atlantic Regional Soccer Shoot in March, 2020 in York, Pennsylvania.

Swing thoughts: July 29, 2019

The weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior Leagues was Doug Camper. There was a two way tie between Duane Davis and Norm Newman. With his victory this week, Doug Camper crept closer to the leader, Norm Newman. Doug Roberts remains in third place. There was a three way tie for the skills prize between Duane Davis, Doug Cannode and Dave Jessee.
