Raider golfers 2nd at Ryan Reynolds tourney

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team continued its solid play to start the season and finished second Thursday in the Ryan Reynolds tourney at Liberty Hills. St Marys came out on top with a 334 followed by Ben Logan at 349, Bellefontaine with a 359, Tecumseh at 363, Indian Lake with a 368, Shawnee at 373 and Vandalia Butler with a 402.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team finished second Wednesday in the Central Buckeye Conference preseason tourney at Liberty Hills. Graham came out on top with a 334, followed by Ben Logan at 352, Indian Lake with a 365, Urbana with a 366 and Northwestern with a 392.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team finished second by one stroke behind Lima Central Catholic at the Russ Hogue Invitational at Cherokee Hills Golf Course in Bellefontaine on Tuesday. LCC shot a 352, while the Raiders came in with a 353, Sidney was third with a 356, Springfield Shawnee was fourth at 366, followed by Indian Lake at 377, Riverside with a 400 and Northwestern with a 411.

The Kenton High School cheerleaders held the annual mini cheer clinic last week, with 70 campers in attendance. All those that participated will cheer during the first quarter of the Wildcats first home football game of the season against Bath on Sept. 6.

Ben Logan golfers 3rd in own invitational

BELLEFONTAINE — The host Ben Logan boys golf team started its season with a third place finish in the annual Raider Invitational on Monday. For the Raiders, Ethan Ricketts led the way with a 78 finishing fourth overall. Jacob Mitchell shot an 87, Trey Allen a 90, Alex Naragon a 92, Bryce Loomis a 97 and Carston McCain a 107.

KHS alumni run

The Kenton cross country team had its first ever alumni race on Saturday with 44 past and current members of the team turning out to run a 5K. Caleb Burkey was the top male finisher, while the top female runner was Kierra Krohmer.
