John Carroll takes care of Polar Bears, 44-13

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Junior All-American Christiaan Williams had a record-setting afternoon, but Ohio Northern fell 44-10 at No. 13-ranked John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium. Williams ran 25 times for 127 yards for the Polar Bears (3-3 overall, 3-2 Ohio Athletic Conference).

Middle School

The Kenton eighth grade volleyball team finished the Western Buckeye League tournament with a 1-2 record on Saturday. The Wildcats fell to Defiance in their first match of the day 25-23, 25-22 , before topping Van Wert 25-19, 25-19 in their second match.

McDonald 5k set for Saturday

BELLEFONTAINE — The second Krista Ansley McDonald 5K Run will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mary Rutan Park, 500 E. Williams Ave., Bellefontaine. Registration is $25 for individuals and $65 per family and will be open at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race, which starts at 9 a.m.

Polar Bears after sixth win when they travel to Elgin

Hardin Northern looks to continue building on what has become its most successful season in more than a decade when it travels to Elgin to meet the winless Comets in a Northwest Central Conference gridiron battle on Friday night. The Polar Bears (5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the NWCC) have already won more games than any Hardin Northern team since 2007 when that year’s team went 6-4.
