UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Junior All-American Christiaan Williams had a record-setting afternoon, but Ohio Northern fell 44-10 at No. 13-ranked John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium. Williams ran 25 times for 127 yards for the Polar Bears (3-3 overall, 3-2 Ohio Athletic Conference).

NEW CARLISLE — The Ben Logan volleyball team lost a five-set match to Greenville in the sectional final 25-18, 13-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-13 on Saturday. The Raiders bow out at 17-7 on the season.

BELLEFONTAINE — Bellefontaine defeated Ben Logan 1-0 in the second round of Division II sectional tournament action on Saturday at Bellefontaine High School.

LIMA — After failing to win a sectional title during the first 18 years of the program’s existence, the Kenton girls soccer program has now claimed two sectional crowns in a row. The No. 5 seeded Wildcats earned their second straight sectional title on Saturday by blanking No. 2 Shawnee 2-0.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Led by two-goal performances from Drew Frey and Mitchell O’Flaherty paired with a defense that gave up just four shots, Riverdale easily took care of Eastwood 8-0 in Saturday’s Division III boys soccer sectional final.

The Kenton eighth grade volleyball team finished the Western Buckeye League tournament with a 1-2 record on Saturday. The Wildcats fell to Defiance in their first match of the day 25-23, 25-22 , before topping Van Wert 25-19, 25-19 in their second match.

BELLEFONTAINE — The second Krista Ansley McDonald 5K Run will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mary Rutan Park, 500 E. Williams Ave., Bellefontaine. Registration is $25 for individuals and $65 per family and will be open at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race, which starts at 9 a.m.

After rebounding from its first Western Buckeye League loss two weeks ago with a win over Van Wert last Friday, the Kenton football team looks to continue its push for a Western Buckeye League title when Shawnee visits Robinson Field on Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Hardin Northern looks to continue building on what has become its most successful season in more than a decade when it travels to Elgin to meet the winless Comets in a Northwest Central Conference gridiron battle on Friday night. The Polar Bears (5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the NWCC) have already won more games than any Hardin Northern team since 2007 when that year’s team went 6-4.
