MOUNT BLANCHARD — The athletes on the Riverdale track team received special awards during a program on Tuesday night. Receiving the awards as the team MVP was Eli Weber. Caleb McCoey took home plaques for most points in running events and the Falcon Award.

BLUFFTON — Jared Thomas of Dunkirk earned a Master of Arts in Education degree during Bluffton University’s 119th annual commencement ceremony on May 5.

The winning team in the 15th annual Hardin County Golf Foundation Memorial Tournament was Jeff Flemming, Kyle Linke, Chris LaRue and Andrew Hobensack at Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course in Kenton with a 17 under par 55. Finishing second at 59 was the team of Britton Hensel, Don Dodds, Eric Henley and Randy Comer and taking third was the quartet of David Bettinger, Bob Osbun, Jordy Johnson and Russ Wallace, who also had a 59.

The 2019 Kenton Summer Football Camps will be held in three sessions the week of June 3-7. Session I for students entering grades 9-12 will be from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, June 3.

PIQUA — No area athletes were able to qualify for the Division II state meet on the second day of regional competition at Piqua on Saturday. Ben Logan had the only placers for the day as Cole Bibart and Marshall Jackson both had top eight efforts in the shot put. Bibart finished sixth with a top throw of 59-7 3/4, while Jackson was eighth with a top toss of 47-10 1/4.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The 10th annual Mark Gillfillan 5K Memorial Run/Walk will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. June 21 at Riverdale School. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

Mad River Division champion Ben Logan was well-represented on the All-CBC baseball teams released on Thursday. The Raiders had three first team players, including pitcher Blake Peterson, infielder Garrett Dixon and outfielder Trace Tevis.

In Spring League play at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of Brian McFadden, Dean Brim, Jeff Butcher, Lew Hanna and Tami McFadden are holding first place at 31 under with one week of play left. The team of Paul Coker, Reg Sampson, Bryant Piper, Andy Tudor and Joni Rensing are in second place with a 27 under and the team of Brad Hanna, Todd Hayter, Doug Wright, Don Dodds and Judy Brim are in third place with a 23 under.

The second farm Indians defeated the Dodgers 10-7 on Monday afternoon. Leading the way for the Indians was was Braylen Miller with a triple and 2 doubles; Nolan Asman with 3 singles; Emma Kaylor with a double and a single; Tatum Dale with a triple; Mya Hunsaker with a double; Brendan Potter and Dakota Hale-Adkins with 2 singles each; Domanic Sloan, Eliannah Miller and Stewart Kaylor with singles.

TIFFIN — Just one season removed from failing to qualify for the Division III regional meet, Ada pole vaulter Nora Dellifield has propelled herself to a spot at the 2019 state meet in Columbus next Friday. Dellifield cleared 10-04 at the D-III regional meet at Tiffin on Friday, good enough for a fourth place finish.
