Ben Logan receives a top-seed for BB tourney

Ben Logan was the only area baseball team to earn a No. 1 seed in the district tournament draws that were released on Sunday. The Raiders, 15-3 on the season, took a first-round bye and will host either Graham or Springfield Northwestern in their sectional opener at 5 p.m. May 16. The winner advances to district semifinal play at Urbana at 5 p.m. May 21. Graham and Northwestern play each other at 5 p.m. May 14 at Northwestern.

5th Polar Bear Legacy Golf Outing announced

The 5th annual Polar Bear Legacy Golf Outing is planned Saturday, July 6 at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course, Kenton. The four-person scramble will tee off at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $50 per person and the event will be limited to the first 25 teams to register. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. that day. The rain date is Sunday, July 7 at 1 p.m.

Kentonites Monty and Spencer Vermillion recently won first place in this year’s 108th Ohio Intercity Bowling Tournament doubles event held in Lexington, Ohio at Lex Lanes. The duo shot a 1,376 actual score and a total of 1,574 with handicap.
