CRIDERSVILLE — Perry had too much offensive firepower for Ridgemont on Friday night as the Commodores outscored the Gophers by 52 points over the final three quarters on the way to a 92-31 Northwest Central Conference boys basketball victory.

Ben Logan gets past Tecumseh in overtime

TECUMSEH — Ben Logan outscored Tecumseh by two points in overtime to pull out a 55-53 Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball victory on Friday night. After the Raiders grabbed a 13-5 lead after one quarter, Tecumseh came back to pull within 25-24 at halftime and tied the game at 35-35 going into the fourth quarter. The score was tied 49-49 at the end of regulation.

Slow start costly for Hardin Northern

DeGRAFF — Despite an impressive finish, Hardin Northern was unable to overcome a sluggish start, falling to Riverside 71-64 in boys basketball action Friday night. With the Northwest Central Conference loss, the Polar Bears drop to 2-13 overall, 1-5 in the league. Riverside improves to 5-12, 2-3.

OTTAWA — Kenton played Ottawa-Glandorf nearly point for point through the first half of their Western Buckeye League battle against the unbeaten and No. 1 ranked girls Division II team in Ohio on Thursday night. In the second half, the Wildcats didn’t have an answer for the Titans zone defense though as they hit just four field goals over the final 16 minutes – including only one in the third quarter – as O-G pulled away for a 60-49 victory.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Having already made a three-quarter-court shot at the halftime buzzer, a 3-pointer from about 23 feet certainly was well within Brittany Hovest’s range. She nailed the shot with about 10 seconds left to force overtime, and Pandora-Gilboa escaped Riverdale with a 76-69 victory on Thursday night.

McGUFFEY — The last time the Upper Scioto Valley girls basketball team finished the year with a conference loss was the 2013-14 season. With Thursday’s 62-27 win over Riverside, that streak is safe for another year. Upper Scioto Valley’s win capped the Lady Rams’ third-straight perfect season in the Northwest Central Conference and their fourth NWCC title in as many years.

DOLA — Hardin Northern outscored Waynesfield-Goshen by eight points in the second quarter and that was the difference as the Polar Bears topped the visiting Tigers 47-39 in a Northwest Central Conference girls basketball matchup on Thursday. Hardin Northern, which moves to 8-12 overall and 3-3 in the NWCC, trailed 11-10 after eight minutes before outscoring the Tigers 12-4 in the second stanza.
