McGUFFEY — The Upper Scioto Valley Rams fended off Cory-Rawson in a shootout Friday night, defeating the Hornets 48-41 in the non-conference contest. USV climbs to 1-1 with the win, while the Hornets remain winless at 0-2. The Rams got on the scoreboard first when quarterback Quinn Sanders completed a pass to JJ Overs from 16 yards for the score.

ADA — Arlington scored four unanswered touchdowns in the first half including three touchdown passes by Jacob Russell on the way to a 37-6 victory over Ada on Friday night. Russell finished the game 13 of 14 passing for 197 yards with a pair of touchdown passes to Ivan Berry and one to Jaret Vermillion.

WEST LIBERTY — A safety with two minutes to go in the game gave Benjamin Logan the two points it needed for a win, defeating West Liberty-Salem 30-29 in Friday night’s non-conference game. The win lifts the Raiders to 1-1 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 1-1.

NORTH LEWISBURG — Triad routed Ridgemont 63-2 in a non-league football game on Friday. The Gophers fall to 1-1 on the season. Triad also is 1-1. No statistics were received from the game.

As Thursday night’s match against Celina progressed and his team was unable to get on the scoreboard despite controlling the run of pay, Kenton soccer coach Jamie Bartlett hoped that his Wildcats would eventually wear down the visiting Bulldogs.

DOLA — The combination of seniors Gabby Weaver to Rylie Bame led the Hardin Northern volleyball team to a 25-9, 25-21, 25-18 win over Hardin County foe Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday night. Weaver had 26 assists, with half of them finished off by Bame, who ended the night with 13 kills.

St. Marys defeated Kenton 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League tennis match on Thursday afternoon. At No. 1 singles, St. Marys’ Clare Caywood bested Kenton's Mykaela Schriber 6-4, 6-4.

Kenton edged Van Wert 189-194 in a Western Buckeye League golf match at Memorial Park Golf Course on Thursday afternoon. Rocco Longbrake and Peyton Roby both carded 44s to lead the Wildcats and earn co-medalist honors.

CELINA — The Kenton volleyball team was defeated 25-15, 25-13, 25-12 in its Western Buckeye League opener at Celina on Thursday night. The Wildcats fall to 1-3 on the season.

OLD FORT — Jacob Poling had three goals as Ada defeated Old Fort 4-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match on Thursday afternoon. Skylar Williams added a goal for the Bulldogs, while Jon Allen, Issac Spar, Brendan Sheridan and William Jolliff Jr. all had an assist.
