Choral Boosters get set for Cabaret

The Kenton Choral Boosters met on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in the Kenton High School Library. Members present were Sue Bailey - president, Steffanie Humphries - vice president, Matthew Ketcham – treasurer, Wanda Horner – secretary, and Todd Daquino, director. The meeting was called to order by Sue Bailey.

Hardin County Players to present TAB Awards

MOUNT VICTORY — The TAB (Take A Bow) Awards, sponsored by the Hardin County Players, will be held Thursday, May 16 in the commons area of the Ridgemont School in Mount Victory. The program, which recognizes the Hardin County schools' achievements in theatrical productions performed during the current school year, will begin at 6 p.m.

Live life to the fullest: Yellow Day

Yellow Day is celebrated on May 9th. Yellow Day was started in 2017 by kindergarten teacher Adam Peterson as a way to spread kindness and brighten the lives of those around you. Peterson started this day in memory of his friend and mentor, Honor Trotter. Honor was able to turn people’s gray skies into yellow. Yellow Day is celebrated on May 9th because that was Honor’s birthday.

Grange news: May 9, 2019

Painter Creek Grange members gathered Thursday, May 2 for a pancake and sausage supper prior to their regular meeting. Family activities chairman Jean Dirkson reported the following county contest winners from Painter Creek: Baking, Lemon Country Coffee Cake – 2nd Jean Osborn and 3rd Jean Dirkson; Lemon Bars – 1st Andrea McCullough, 2nd Joan White; Men’s Baking – 1st Robert White; Spring Fling Craft – 1st Joan White; Juniors: Decorated initial – 2nd Maddie Russell, 3rd Kate Russell; Seed Picture – 1st Maddie Russell, 2nd Kate Russell, 3rd Todd Oberlitner; Tape Art – 1st Kate Russell, 2nd Maddie Russell. All 1st place winners will go to state for competition.
