Resident praises KPD officers for response

A Kenton resident came before City Council on Monday night to express appreciation to two city police officers for helping him through a stressful time earlier this year. Howard Henderson said had a nervous breakdown and was drinking on Jan. 12 when he called a veterans crisis line because he was contemplating suicide. He said all the issues evolved from the death of his wife the previous year.

USV financial report unchanged since Oct.

McGUFFEY — The financial future of the Upper Scioto Valley School District has changed little since the last five-year forecast was approved in October, said Treasurer Stacy Gratz. Her report to the board shows USV ending the current fiscal year with a carryover of $5,255,206. Gratz's forecast shows the district spending more than it brings in through revenue sources starting in 2021 with no revenue added.

Police reports: May 14, 2019

An officer was dispatched to 318 Letson Ave. in reference to a male with a bench warrant. Anthony Joseph Hites, LaRue, was located inside the residence and was arrested on a bench warrant out of Marion County. A vehicle theft was reported from 398 E. Forest Road.
