A Celebration of Life for Matthew “Matty” Lee Cox Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church, 402 E. Forest Road, Kenton.

Immediate family arriving at 1 p.m.

Visiting time for everyone following the ceremony.

He died Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 3, 2012 in Delaware to Matthew Lee Cox Sr. and Rhiannon Goddard, both of Kenton.

Also surviving are two sisters, Riley Goddard and Alexus Cox; a brother, Jacob Phipps; maternal grandparents, Penny Allee of Richwood, David Allee of Springfield, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Becky (J.R.) Cronkleton of Middleburg, Heather (Jake Burgbacher) Cox of Kenton; maternal great-grandparents, Beatty Karnes of Texas; paternal great-grandparents, Ann (Jim) Heizer of Forest, Delmar (Tempa) Cox of    West Liberty, Vikkie  (George) Searson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; Dean Cox.

Matty was a kindergartner at Kenton Elementary.

He was a talkative, outgoing, friendly little boy who never knew a stranger and loved to help people however he could.

He loved to play, especially with his Legos, Ninja Turtles and his dogs.

He also enjoyed going on trips to the planetarium and Boonshaft Museum, where he could learn about science and the planets.

He will be dearly missed by his family.

In lieu of flowers, Mom and Dad are asking everyone to write down their favorite memories of Matty for them to have as keepsakes.

The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
