Richard Lee Skidmore, 73, of Belle Center passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 18, 2022 at his winter home, Riverside RV Resort, Florida. He was born in Hardin County on November 20, 1948 to the late Cyril and Pauline (Hesser) Skidmore. 

On June 20, 1975 he married Joan Jenkins at the Presbyterian Church in Belle Center, Ohio and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Amy (Scott) Armentrout of Zanesfield and Katie Lacher of Bellefontaine, four grandchildren, Landon and Ali Armentrout and Kensley and Keegan Lacher, three sisters, Kathryn Skidmore, Linda Blosser, and Mary (Dale) Ward and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his sister Mae Graham. 

He was a 1966 graduate of Belle Center High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired volunteer firefighter/EMT with Richland Township and BMRT. He retired from Rockwell in Kenton after 30 years. He was a member of the Indian Lake Moose. 

He thoroughly enjoyed his time at Riverside RV Resort, playing cards, horseshoes, and cornhole as well as visiting with many friends. He will be greatly missed by the Riverside community. 

There are no words to describe the man Richard was. Devoted to his family, he would drop whatever he was doing to help. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, as well as camping with family. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, tender heart, teasing nature, easy laugh, and very easy-going attitude. 

A celebration of life open house will be held at the Belle Center United Methodist Church activity building on Saturday, May 7th from 1pm-4pm. A dinner will follow for friends and family.
