ADA — The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents a Steel Band Day concert featuring the Glass City Steel from the Toledo Schools for the Arts, the Clark Montessori Steel Band and The Wild Steel-ions in Presser Hall on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m.

BLUFFTON — Tickets are available for the third concert in the 2015-16 Bluffton University Artist Series for pianist Ann-Marie McDermott at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 in Yoder Recital Hall. McDermott has played concertos, recitals and chamber music in hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

Edward Eugene and Joni Arlene (Cornish) Miller are celebrating their 40th anniversary. They were married on Feb. 6, 1976 in Kenton at Rev. Hurt’s home.

Taylor's Way raised $1,066 at a pulled pork dinner held in memory of Taylor Carder on Nov. 14, 2015 at the Kenton Moose Lodge. Taylor's Way was formed by her parents, Bob and Kelly Carder, to do what Taylor stood for and to help area people in need.

AKRON — Four area students have been named to the fall 2015 Dean's List at The University of Akron. Taysia Brayshaw of Ada is majoring in fashion merchandise-apparel.

When the weather outside is frightful, nothing is better than staying indoor snuggling up by the fireplace in a warm sweater and slippers and enjoying a hot beverage and eating a steaming bowl of soup. February 4 is designated as Homemade Soup Day.

FOREST — The Jackson Forest Ambulance Board will meet on the second Tuesday of the month for the months of February, March and April. The regular schedule will resume in May, with the meeting on the second Wednesday of the month.
