Four Hardin County employers were recognized by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) for their strong workplace safety records. The businesses received BWC’s Special Award for Safety for at least 500,000 hours and six months without an injury resulting in a day or more away from work.

Ashton Blackford has joined the staff at Exclusive Hair Designs of Kenton. She graduated from the Ohio State Beauty Academy and is a managing cosmetologist.

FOREST — Community First Bancshares, Inc., the holding company of Community First Bank, N.A. of Forest, Kenton, and Upper Sandusky, held its annual stockholders meeting April 19 at the Forest VFW social room. There were 85 stockholders present.

Thomas Newland (right) of Newland Insurance Agency in Kenton was recently awarded the Founders’ Award by Terry Cavanaugh, president and CEO of Erie Insurance Group.

Shane Turner has been promoted to Loan Officer/CRA Officer at Community First Bank, announced the Board of Directors. He will serve the lending needs in all three offices located in Forest, Kenton, and Upper Sandusky.

There has been much progress made this school year in addressing the training of students to enter the work force. Those first steps will be taking a leap when classes throughout Hardin County start next fall.
