McGUFFEY — The McGuffey Free Will Baptist Church will be hosting singing featuring the Moore and Osborne families at 7 p.m. Saturday.

WHARTON — Wharton First Church of God invites everyone to come to its Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m. Carolyn Thomas will teach combined Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Pastor Bob Eatherton will be the guest speaker.

At the end of the fascinating story of Joseph in the book of Genesis, Joseph tells his worried brothers, “Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good.” (verse 50:20). Joseph’s brothers first tried to kill him, then later sold him into slavery in ancient Egypt.

LIMA — Trinity United Methodist Church, 301 W. Market St., Lima, is presenting the 2017-2018 Ronald W. Richards Music Series. This year, the series will feature four concerts. The first, on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m., will be a hymn festival led by organist Jonathan Hehn.

Several years ago a young woman, age 20, was in my communications class at Owens. She was also a student pilot, an apprentice. Her career goal was to become a commercial airline pilot.

The Auglaize Free United Baptist Church will be hosting a “best breakfast” all-you-can-eat country-style breakfast and bake sale from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. Donations for adults are $7, and children ages 7 to 13 are $4.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey will host a Mass on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. for cancer victims, survivors, caregivers and their loved ones. All are welcome to come and pray together.
