The Veterans’ Service Office announces that there will be VA representatives from the Columbus VA Hospital in the Hardin County Courthouse on Jan. 15. They will have a table set up on the first floor from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be assisting eligible veterans with VA health care enrollment.

The Hardin County Veterans Service Commission issued vouchers totaling $1,008.21 during the month of December. There was $150 issued to assist vets with food purchases and the remaining $858.21 was spent to help with utilities and other costs.

The 2018 Annual Financial Report for the Hardin County Veterans Memorial Park District has been filed and is open to the public for viewing at the Hardin County Probate Court.

Jail time for former Allen East music teacher has been delayed pending his appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court. According to a spokesperson for the Hardin County Common Pleas Court, Dennis Dellifield of Ada, was granted a stay for the incarceration portion of his sentence, but is required to file as a sexual offender, which he has done.

Brett D. Shingledecker, Lima – speeding 67 mph in a 55 mph zone, amended to speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $15. Case was heard by acting Judge Colleen O’Connell.

A 17-year-old female for seatbelt violation/driver, court ordered: Carteens and fined $25.

A Kenton woman was placed on community control for five years after she pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing heroin in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, Amanda L. Alberding, 10018 TR 225, Kenton, also was fined $100 by Judge Scott Barrett on each of the four charges for total fine of $400.

Snowden G. Sims, Grove City – speeding 41 mph in a 25 mph zone, fined $25. Case was heard by acting Judge Richard Reese. Kylie Renee Wilhelm, 1968 CR 95, Ada – speeding 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, fined $25. Case was heard by acting Judge Reese. Heather Renee Morris, McComb – speeding 67 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $25. Case was heard by acting Judge Reese.
