DOLA — Hardin Northern is announcing that schedules for students in grades 7-12 will be available in the high school office beginning next week. Schedules will be available on Wednesday, Aug. 8; Thursday, Aug. 9; Friday, Aug. 10; Monday, Aug. 13; and Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. each day.

Marina Fox of Belle Center, a member of the Boots and Buckles 4-H club, placed 9th in showmanship in the 9-11-year-old division at the Ohio State Fair with her horse, Sidney.

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month in Ohio and Aug. 1-7 is World Breastfeeding Week (WBW). Research suggests that breastfeeding is a key modifiable factor for disease for both mothers and infants.

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a country-style breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Alger Social Center, 210 N. Main St. On the menu are biscuits, sausage gravy, hash browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and a beverage for a suggested donation of $7.

A meal is served at 11:15 a.m. weekdays for people ages 60 and older at the Hardin County Council on Aging in Kenton. Meals are for donation only.
