They had joined the Ohio National Guard together in Kenton, had trained together prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, and had fought together during World War II in a jungle far removed from the crop fields of their Hardin County homes. Ada man aids in own rescue after vehicle flips into creek ADA — An Ada man escaped serious injuries after he drove his car on top of a guard rail and then flipped the vehicle top down into the water of a creek south of Ada on Wednesday afternoon. Ada, KHS swimmer split dual The Ada and Kenton swim teams split a dual match at the Hardin County YMCA on Tuesday night. Led by Klava Katayama’s two first place efforts, the Ada girls won seven events on the way to a 97-64 victory, while the Wildcat boys, led by Landon Bartlett and Garrett Thomas’ two firsts, won six events on the way to a 92-53 win.
