Lady ‘Cats pull away from Marion Harding in second half

The Marion Harding girls basketball team came into its game against Kenton on Tuesday night with just four wins in 13 games and on a five-game losing streak. While on paper it may have looked to be an easy game for Kenton, it did not prove to be that way on the court as the visiting Prexies stayed within three points into the fourth quarter before the Lady Wildcats were able to pull away late for a 58-49 victory.

A vehicle slid off the snow-covered Ohio 31, just south of Mount Victory, and crashed into an electrical pole owned by American Electrical Power on Monday afternoon. According to a report from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Hugo Galindez-Lopez, of Kanawh, W.Va., was driving the rented vehicle.

Minister reunites with friends at Payne Chapel

Though originally from Oxford in southwestern Ohio, Rev. Vanessa Cummings spent time in Kenton as a child, traveling with her father Virgil, a pastor who supervised the district. Now a pastor herself, Vanessa returned to Kenton just over four years ago to serve at Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and was reunited with those with whom she grew up.
