Rams win NWCC opener in double OT

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley was four seconds away from a regulation girls basketball win on Thursday night when Riverside’s Shelby Giles nailed a three-pointer to tie the game. It took double overtime, but the host Rams finally managed to outlast the Pirates, outscoring them 7-1 in the second OT period to claim a 47-41 Northwest Central Conference win.

McGUFFEY — A 21-point halftime deficit proved too much for the Upper Scioto Valley girls basketball team, which fell to Bluffton 71-49 on Tuesday night. With just one full-time returning starter in Kaycee Carroll and several new faces in starting roles for the Lady Rams (0-1), led by first-year head coach Travis Donley, the game proved a learning experience for the team.
