Many people are familiar with the drug problems, the suicide issues and the mental health agencies available in Hardin County. But a program Friday at the We Care Center in Kenton, sponsored by the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties, not only shared contact information, it gave a face to those who benefit from the programs.

For the past 50 years, the Herzog Car Wash has operated on Market Street in Kenton.

The hay stands ready for storage at a dairy farm east of Kenton. Farmers have experienced a variety of weather so far in June with spotty storms drenching some fields and leaving others untouched.

A variety of numbers were shared with city, county and business leaders Wednesday morning during an update on the Kenton downtown project. The key ones: In 4 to 7 years at a cost of $15 million to $20 million, the downtown can have all new infrastructure and a reimagined streetscape.

DUNKIRK — In his 26 years coaching football at Hardin Northern, Pete Brunow helped take the Polar Bears from bottom dwellers to eventual conference and state champions. Brunow is being recognized for his coaching efforts on Friday in Columbus by being inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

The mood was somber as the members of Kenton High School’s football team drifted into their morning weight-lifting session this morning. Their minds were obviously on the passing of one of their own, Tyler Heintz, a 2017 KHS graduate.
