After a year’s absence, the Buggy Ride bicycle tour is returning to Hardin County on Saturday, June 13. The Hardin County Family YMCA and the Healthy Lifestyles Coalition have taken over sponsorship of the tour.

After nearly three decades of practicing law, Steve Christopher achieved his career goal of becoming a judge when he donned the black robe in 2013, presiding over Hardin County’s juvenile and probate courts.

With the last days of school ticking away, two Kenton students are preparing to return to their homes in Europe. Konstantin Hoelzl will be going back to Austria and Andrea Ceschin will be heading for his home in Italy.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — When they were growing up, Riverdale teachers Bev Huffman and Beth Wetherill each pictured themselves in careers other than teaching. But instead of becoming a scientist and an author, they taught others to share their love of those subjects.

MARSEILLES — Two longtime members of the Marseilles Volunteer Fire Department were honored in a surprise ceremony during the department’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser and open house earlier this month. Fire Lt. Brian Bryant and Capt. Scotty Williams each spent more than a decade volunteering for the department.

ADA — The students have left for the year. The hallways are quiet and dark and Lyn Davis sits at her cleared desk preparing to start a new part of her life.

A large crowd lined the streets of Kenton for the parade and stayed for the activities at the courthouse. The crowd for the services at the cemetery were larger than normal and braved an occasional rain drop before starting the parade to the courthouse.
