Soil and Water sets meeting

The August board meeting of the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hardin County Fairgrounds in Kenton. Future meetings will resume on the regular schedule of the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the district office.

New metal rolling plant clears first hurdle for tax break

A new business is expected to be constructed this fall just south of the municipal limits of Kenton. Steve McCullough of McCullough Properties met with the members of the Kenton Enterprise Zone Committee on Thursday morning to request a tax abatement for the 25,000-square-foot building he is planning to build on U.S. 68, directly west of Letson Street, in Buck Township.

Cancer care physician available at HMH

Dr. Farrukh Ashraf

The oncology and hematology services of Farrukh Ashraf, MD, are now available at the Hardin Memorial Hospital Specialty Center in Kenton. Ashraf has five years of experience as a hematologist/oncologist and completed a residency in medical oncology at Wright State University in Dayton.

Thacker joins Exclusive Hair Designs

Brook Thacker

Brook Thacker is joining the team at Exclusive Hair Designs in Kenton. She will be working Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Thacker specializes in perms and hair color (including balayage highlighting), and will be offering $10 off any color service through the end of August.
