Brook Thacker is joining the team at Exclusive Hair Designs in Kenton. She will be working Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Thacker specializes in perms and hair color (including balayage highlighting), and will be offering $10 off any color service through the end of August.          

Kenton native Jeff Brindley, president and CEO of Roush Auto Group, Roush Honda and Roush Ford in the Columbus area, received the 2017 Star Award from Ohio Cancer Research. It was presented during the 26th Star Award Gala on July 20 at the Hilton Columbus at Easton.

A Kenton native is returning home to work with pets and farm animals in the community. Dr. Natasha (Weaver) Dyer is the newest veterinarian to join the team at Oates Veterinary Clinic in Kenton.

A Taylor Creek start-up brewery has received approval from the Kenton Hardin Health Board to use a Porta-John at its site until it can get a septic system installed. During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the board unanimously approved a motion allowing the Paradune Brewery to use a Porta-John system until Sept. 28, 2018, which is the deadline to have a septic system in place according to their permit to install received from the Ohio EPA.
