The Hardin County Pork Producers will hold their annual Pork Banquet on Saturday, March 9 at St. John’s Evangelical Church, starting at 6:30 p.m. The event will include selection of the queen and scholarship recipients as well as amazing food and door prizes.

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes 4-H Club will hold its first meeting Monday, March 11 at the Hardin Northern School Ag Building from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Each member will receive an enrollment sheet, a schedule of meeting and club activities for the year, and each family a Family Guide to 4-H.

The final Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series of the year will be on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. The session will start at 7:30 a.m. with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8 a.m.

The Hardin County Sheep Improvement Association will hold its annual Lamb Banquet on Saturday, March 2 at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the banquet can be reserved from the Extension office by calling 419-674-2297 and paid for at the door the night of the banquet.

This past crop season was a good year for soybean production across the state. The weather cooperated and yields were high. However with the lower soybean prices, intensive management practices become more important to produce a successful crop. Several OSU Extension state specialists will be spending the day on Thursday, Feb. 21 in Hardin County to share information with farmers in a small group, hands-on workshop being held at the OSU Extension office, 1021 W Lima Street in Kenton.

ST. LOUIS – The American Soybean Association (ASA) is now accepting applications for the Ag Voices of the Future program, sponsored by Valent USA. This program is for young people interested in improving their understanding of major policy issues that impact soybean farmers, the importance of advocacy, and careers that can impact agricultural policy.
