Nikolas Aries, 8, brushes the fur of a rabbit at the petting zoo at Saturday's Little Pumpkin Fest on the square in Kenton. Blue skies and brisk temperatures brought a large crowd out for the event sponsored by the Hardin County Young Professionals. Nikolas is the son of Ashlee Arias and Ryan Shields.

Participants in the Kiddie Fun Run during the Little Pumpkin Fest in Kenton prepare to compete in the YMCA's portion of the event on Saturday. The young runners raced around the courthouse for one meter (three laps). Later, adult runners raced in a 5-K race at the festival.

The sidewalks of S. Detroit Street were crowded with people cheering on a trailer-load of pumpkins during the pumpkin drop at Saturday's Little Pumpkin Fest. The pumpkins raced down the hill with the winner of the squash scramble getting $250.

One of the popular attractions for the smaller children at the Little Pumpkin Fest was the large fun house. There were games, face-painting, balloon animals and several other activities for young people and food, vendors and music for the adults in the large crowd.
