DOLA — The Hardin Northern Polar Bears volleyball program has and enviable problem this season. It has too many players. Shannon Evans asked the board Wednesday evening if the coaching staff for the sport could be divided in a different way. There are 26 high school players with two coaches and another two coaches for the nine junior high school participants.

ADA — The staff, volunteers and board of the ReStore Community Center in Ada are inviting the area community to help celebrate the grand reopening and rededication under its new name on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The decision was made by the ReStore’s board of directors to rename the center earlier this summer to differentiate itself from other national charities.

A suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of W. Carrol Street. A small child was reported walking on Steiner Avenue. An officer located the child and transported him back to the department where contact was made with the child’s parent.

The Hardin County Fair officially opens in six days, but some of the vendors are preparing for customers.

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department was required this year to complete an extensive report to the Public Health Accreditation Board.

Several write-in candidates have been added to the Nov. 5 election ballot in Hardin County.

The Ridgemont class of 1966 held its 53-year class reunion Saturday night, Aug. 24 at the Kenton Elks Lodge.

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan Middle School teacher Jennifer Davis was recognized as one of Ohio’s finest teachers during the annual Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Educator’s Retreat at the end of the summer.
