FINDLAY — As part of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s ongoing effort to make Ohio’s roadways safer, troopers are continuing to focus on impaired driving enforcement. During the first five months of 2019, troopers have made more than 10,000 arrests for impaired driving, resulting in 22 fewer OVI-related fatal crashes.

The July meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society (fair board), which was scheduled for July 3, has been postponed due to an anticipated lack of a quorum because a majority of the board of directors are expected to be farming. The meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 10 at 7 p.m. in the fair office on the fairgrounds.

An officer was dispatched to 655 N. Detroit St. for a report of a runaway/unruly juvenile. A verbal domestic disturbance was reported at an apartment at Scioto Village.

Science was Ryan Yoakum’s first love, leading him into the biochemistry field doing cancer research at Wright State University. But his “bigger love” was his family, and with the tough work hours and the hazardous materials in the lab not being very child-friendly, Ryan decided to make a change.

Virginia May Wright, Albany, Ind. – speeding 49 mph in a 35 mph zone, fined $25. Mark J. Garmon, 406 Fasig St., Forest – speeding 51 mph in a 35 mph zone, fined $25. Thomas J. Newland, 10677 CR 145, Kenton – speeding 68 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $25.
