Police reports: June 7, 2019 Officers assisted a naked female out of the Scioto River near Main Street on Thursday at 6:49 a.m. According to the report, Brandy Fay, 655 East St., Apt. 7, was going in and out of the river. The officer responding gave Fay a jump suit and blanket at the scene. She was transported by Kenton Fire Department ambulance to Hardin Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Read More
Eight finalists named to vie for post of music director of Lima Symphony The Lima Symphony Orchestra has announced the eight finalists vying for the position of music director for the Lima Symphony Orchestra. The LSO Search Committee, composed of LSO musicians, the choral director, board members and community representatives, have narrowed down these eight from a field of over 120 highly qualified international applicants. Each of the final eight will be featured in Lima Symphony Orchestra’s “Focus Forward” season and spend a week in Lima not only rehearsing and conducting the orchestra in concert, but also doing in-school visits, children’s programming at the library and more as they audition for the community at large. Ada’s lack of tornado siren topic at council ADA — The Ada council found out on Tuesday night that while Ohio Northern University has a siren that can be activated in the event of a tornado, the village has no such warning system. During its regular meeting, Councilman Bob Simmons said that after the area was placed under tornado warnings on Memorial Day, he questioned Hardin County Emergency Management Director Jake Burgbacher about why he could not hear the warning sirens at his residence on Christopher Lane.
