Forest to get railroad crossing upgrades FOREST — Two railroad crossings in Forest are scheduled for the installation of lights and gates in the coming year. Mayor Tom Seem reported to council on Thursday that village officials had recently met with representatives from the railroad, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, the Ohio Rail Development Commission and the engineer’s offices of Hardin and Wyandot counties. United Way drive reaches 90% of goal With a little over two weeks to go in the campaign, the United Way of Hardin County stands at 90 percent of its goal. Pledges are at $193,050 with a target of $215,000, it was announced Thursday at the organization’s weekly report meeting. Read More
