Bill Detwiler, 427 W. Franklin St., reported that at some time overnight, his vehicle was entered and several items were taken. Unlawful sexual conduct with a minor was reported in the 300 block of N. Detroit Street.

Wharton man arrested

WHARTON — A rural Wharton man was taken into custody by Wyandot County deputies Thursday morning on charges of kidnapping and abduction in a neighboring county, according to a report by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

David Hayslip, Otway, was southbound at the intersection of Detroit and Carrol streets, stopped in the left turn lane. Hayslip attempted to back up to allow room for another semi to complete a right turn onto North Detroit Street.

Ridgeway man sent to prison for community control violations

A Ridgeway man was found to be in violation of his community control release agreement in three cases and was sent to prison for four years in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Matthew C. Radcliffe, whose last known address was Ridgeway, was found to have violated his agreement from a 2009 case in which he was found guilty of robbery.

Online junior fair entries top 2,500

More than 2,500 junior fair online entries were submitted by 810 exhibitors by the July 31 deadline, it was reported at the Hardin County Agricultural Society meeting on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the fairgrounds. There are still some missing entries and those exhibitors who didn't get their online entries made are encouraged to contact their 4-H advisor.
