Cruise-in set for this weekend

The Christian rock band “7eventh Time Down” will be featured at the Cruise-In Concert Saturday at the St. John’s United Church of Christ parking lots. The family event will provide music, food, and fellowship, along with a 5-K run/walk.

Hope Over Heroin featured

The two-night event Hope Over Heroin aims to provide support to those impacted by drugs by way of a gathering of the community’s churches and practical help resources. The Hope Over Heroin program, complete with food, live music and real stories of deliverance, will be coming to Kenton’s Wharton Park on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18 and 19, beginning at 7 p.m. each night.

Kenton man sent to prison for sex crimes

A Kenton man was sent to prison for 13 years and was designated a Tier II sexual offender in a case before the Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Richard Shannon Jenkins, 71, 15079 Ohio 309, Room 23, Kenton, pleaded guilty to two counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity-oriented material or performance.

Ada police make dispatching shift

ADA — Beginning Monday, early morning emergency calls made by Ada residents will be dispatched by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. According to a press release from Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, local calls will be handled by the sheriff’s dispatchers between midnight and 8 a.m.
