Open house at dog shelter to showcase results of donations It has been a year since the Hardin County Dog Shelter opened its doors and Dog Warden Tammy Ervin wants to show the public what their donations have accomplished during an open house on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. More than $72,000 has been donated to the shelter in the past two years, said Ervin. Acting mayor wants job in McGuffey; faces two challengers on Nov. 3 McGUFFEY — The mayor’s race in McGuffey will feature the acting mayor against two challengers. When Mayor Gary Conley resigned this summer, council president Greg Howard agreed to be acting mayor, while continuing to hold onto his council seat.
