MARYSVILLE — Honda’s support of a Marysville Early College STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) High School is paving dividends in its first year. Already freshmen are considering the possibility of entering the area workforce and potentially filling gaps in the automaker’s production and engineering facilities.

A three-part class is being offered next month at three locations in Hardin County by the Ohio State University Extension Office to assist parents with proven strategies to face the challenges of raising children in today’s society.

It was a record-setting Christmas for local merchants. According to a report from the Ohio Department of Taxation, Hardin County received sales tax revenue of $409,028 in January, 2015 compared to $351,473 received in January, 2014.

ADA — With the school’s accreditation now in the rearview mirror, Ada Superintendent Dr. Suzanne Darmer reiterated some of the report’s suggested improvements for the school. Darmer reported to school board members Thursday night at their monthly meeting, informing them that while the school received accreditation status, it was important to remember there were suggestions that came along with the report.
