The fifth Ridgeway Jr. Boosters 4-H Club meeting of the 2019 4-H year was called to order on July 7 at 7:15 by the Jolliff twins. The American pledge was led by Lauren Wingfield and the 4-H pledge was led by Zoey Miller. Taylor Payne then called roll.

The monthly meeting of the Hardin County Democratic Party will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. The meeting location will be the Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County Library in Kenton. Attendees interested in the progress on in the party’s web page development should come at 5:30 p.m. to hear from Adam Papin.

ADA — Almost everyone can think back to a favorite teacher from their time in school, one they looked up to and perhaps were inspired by. For Tom Atkinson, during his time growing up in the Cleveland suburb of North Royalton, that teacher was Mr. Martin J. Lydecker, his band director.

The Kenton Elks 157 held a reception for the 40 recipients of grant money used to help pay for expenses to attend 4-H camp. The lodge applied for the gratitude grant, which requires that the lodge meet the GER’s per-member-giving goal in the prior fiscal year and was awarded $2,000 to be divided among Hardin County youth who applied for the money. Each student received $50 to be used toward 4-H camp which was held July 21-25.
