The temperature snuck above 90 degrees Monday in Hardin County and brought a crowd of people to seek shelter from the heat at the Kenton Municipal Pool. Showers today and Wednesday are expected to bring the mercury down to a more comfortable level for the rest of this week.

Kite enthusiasts take to the skies

Kites soaring

A large crowd played on a slight breeze Saturday afternoon with kites, bubbles and parachutes at the second annual Go Fly A Kite Day at the YMCA Corner Kick Soccer Complex south of Kenton. At its peak, the skies over the field were teaming with large kites in the shape of a scuba diver with a shark in close pursuit, a menacing octopus and stunt kites souring in formations.
