DOLA — After dropping their first eight games of the season, including a rough outing in which they scored just nine points on Tuesday, the Hardin Northern girls basketball team was looking for something positive going into the holidays.

ADA — The first half for Delphos Jefferson went about as good as could have been expected against Ada in Thursday’s girls basketball contest, as the Wildcats were able to find easy open shots to rack up 43 points, while holding the Lady Bulldogs to just 12.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale outscored Vanlue by 15 points in the third quarter to rally for a 50-46 victory in a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. The Falcons trailed 16-6 after eight minutes and 29-17 at halftime before finding their game in the second half when they outscored the visiting Wildcats 33-17 including 22-7 in the third frame.

DOLA — Monclova Christian was able to use its dominance on the boards in pulling away for a 66-44 win over Hardin Northern in a non-league boys basketball game on Thursday night. The Thunder, who had a 34-11 rebounding advantage, jumped ahead 20-10 after eight minutes and 38-24 by halftime.

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre will offer theatre-goers a diverse entertainment schedule for audience members of all ages and interests this January. Shows include an ensemble of professional instrumentalists performing alongside local students, a mind-blowing 4D concert experience, and a show-stopping performance with Bluegrass music’s Vocal Group of the Year.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Intl. Co-Presidents Kathy Lundy and Virginia Shellhouse welcomed 18 members and guests Heidi Cartwright and Sandy Moore to the Christmas luncheon at Kathy’s Home Cooking near Forest at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9. Donna Myers offered grace.

Kenton Rotary Club hosted its annual Christmas Auction on Dec. 11, raising $2,100. The funds raised through the event were awarded to three different charities in the Kenton and Hardin County community.
