BELLEFONTAINE — Trailing 2-1 to Indian Lake with just a few minutes left in the half, the Benjamin Logan girls had a chance to pull even when a foul in the box resulted in a penalty shot. With the ball on the spot, Ben Logan’s Stevie Plikerd took the shot, but it rolled to the left of the goal and out, resulting in a goal kick.

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Athletic Hall of Fame inducted four new members during during homecoming activities this past weekend.

The Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center welcomed in fall with a party. The seniors celebrated by having a carry-in lunch.

The Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center hosted a cupcake bake-off. Seniors made and decorated cupcakes and they were judged by three special judges.

Some of the seniors from the Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center formed a quilting club. They are enjoying learning how to make a quilt.

Courtney Marie DeLong and Travis Lee Nichols are announcing their engagement and upcoming marriage. Courtney is the daughter of Michele and Cecil E. DeLong of Kenton.

Homecoming will be celebrated this weekend at Upper Scioto Valley High School. Junior court attendants are (front, standing) Bentley Davis and Adilynn Thompson.

Ada High School is celebrating its homecoming this week with a bonfire in the north parking lot today at 8 p.m. and a parade on Friday starting at 5:45 p.m. The crowning of the 2017 king and queen will be held prior to the football game with Columbus Grove.

The Kenton soccer team held a one-goal lead over Shawnee twice on Tuesday night. Both times the Indians had a response as the teams played to 2-2 tie in Western Buckeye League action.
