Coroner: Give kids love and simple message: ‘Don’t take drugs’

MOUNT VICTORY — Hardin County Coroner Larry Kuk said the chances of parents keeping their children drug-free could be as simple as simply showing them love and telling them “don’t take drugs.” Kuk was part of a group consisting of Juvenile Court Judge Steve Christopher, Sheriff Keith Everhart and Deputy Christina Henderson, who talked with parents and staff at Ridgemont on Wednesday evening. “Anytime I deal with drugs, someone is dead,” said Kuk.

Harco Industries ‘spark plug’ enjoys her independence

Her co-workers call Brieanna Truman a spark plug. Her supervisors at Harco Industries call her an inspiration. But Brie refers to herself as independent. Regardless of the names used to describe her, Truman is a strong woman who enjoys her life. She is one of the people featured this month by the Times in honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. She is a part of the Community Employment Program at Harco.

Residents and staff celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab Center in Kenton. They had karaoke and green treats and drinks. All residents got a hat and green beads to wear for the party.
