ADA — While the professional football season is coming to a close, the village of Ada is gearing up for a big celebration. On Feb. 4 (the day prior to the Super Bowl), the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the first Made In Ada Wilson Football Festival where families can go to football movies, take part in a football panel discussion, play games and top the day off by cheering on the dropping of a giant lighted Wilson football in the first moments of Super Bowl Sunday.

MOUNT VICTORY — When the Ridgemont Gopher girls basketball team played the Delaware Christian Eagles last week at home, some special guests were heartily cheering them on in their victory.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — “Eth-an!, Eth-an!, Eth-an!” a nearly full Riverdale gymnasium started chanting midway through his 182-pound wrestling match against Columbus Grove’s Enoch Jones on Thursday afternoon.

DOLA — Hardin Northern was able to keep things close against Upper Scioto Valley for 12 minutes of the Northwest Central Conference girls basketball matchup on Thursday night.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale battled with North Baltimore for most of a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursday night. But a stretch of hot shooting put the Tigers ahead in the second quarter of the contest, and a cold stretch later kept Riverdale out of it.

FOREST — The village of Forest is taking initial steps to address one of the largest nuisance properties in the town. Known locally as the Old Trailer Factory, the series of buildings has set vacant for many years.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan used its defensive pressure to get off to a fast start against Ridgemont on Wednesday night and the Gophers were never able to recover as the Raiders cruised to a 70-48 win in a non-league girls game.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office’s latest weapon on the war on crime gives deputies eyes in the sky. A drone for the department was purchased by members of the Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).
