New Bremen blasts HN

DOLA — After a slow start at the plate, New Bremen got its bats going late, scoring 12 runs in the fifth inning on the way to an 18-9 victory over Hardin Northern in a non-league softball game on Monday afternoon. The Polar Bears, who received two doubles and two RBIs from both Haylei Pees and Shelby Alloway, led 3-0 after three innings and 6-2 after four innings before New Bremen found its batting stroke in the fifth frame.

Gossard has HR, 5 RBIs in Bulldogs win

HARROD — Madisyn Gossard had a big day at the plate, smashing a home run and two doubles with five RBIs to lead Ada to a 16-7 Northwest Conference softball win over Allen East on Monday. The Bulldogs trailed 7-5 before plating 11 runs in the sixth inning as they improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in NWC action.

Falcons make most of Arcadia’s miscues

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took advantage of six Arcadia errors to score six unearned runs on the way to a 9-0 Blanchard Valley Conference baseball win on Monday night. The Falcons plated two runs in the first inning and two more in the third before putting the game out of reach with a three-run fifth frame.

Two runs in 7th lift W-G to win over Polar Bears

WAYNESFIELD — Hardin Northern rallied from a three-run deficit to take a one-run lead going into the seventh inning of its baseball game against Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday afternoon. The host Tigers though responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 6-5 victory in the non-league contest.

Polar Bears top P-G 7-6 in eight innings

DOLA — Hardin Northern plated the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning to earn a 7-6 win over Pandora-Gilboa and its first baseball victory of the season on Saturday. Hunter Jolliff had a pair of hits and three RBIs and Daylin Pees had a pair of doubles to lead Hardin Northern, which led 6-4 after five innings before the Rockets tallied two in he seventh to send the game to extra innings.

Lady Gophers sweep twinbill with Fairlawn

SIDNEY — The Ridgemont softball team swept Fairlawn 22-4, 19-9 in a non-league doubleheader on Saturday. In game one, Ridgemont broke open a 2-2 tie with five runs in the top of the second inning and three more in the third before putting the game away with a 10-run fourth.
