L-B outslugs HN softball

FINDLAY — Hardin Northern was not able to match Liberty-Benton at the plate on Thursday as the Eagles outslugged the Polar Bears 14-4 in a non-league softball matchup. Hardin Northern started off hot, plating three runs in the top of the first inning.

Waugh leads Raiders to CBC win over Tecumseh

NEW CARLISLE — Cole Waugh threw a four-hit shutout, striking out 10 batters, to lead Benjamin Logan past Tecumseh 3-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball matchup on Thursday. The Raiders, who plated all three of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, racked up seven hits on the day, led by Waugh’s two singles and a double.

O-G sweeps KHS tennis

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Kenton 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League tennis match on Thursday afternoon. In singles action, O-G’s Craig Recker was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Andrew Boyer; Kevin Recker topped Cruz Bryant 6-0, 6-1 and Carter Welsh cruised past Hayden Robinson 6-1, 6-0.

Ada tennis gets by Wapak

WAPAKONETA — Ada swept Wapakoneta 5-0 in a non-league boys tennis match on Thursday afternoon. Claiming singles victories for the Bulldogs were Zach Beaschler, who topped Jeffrey Adkins 6-0, 6-1; Cade Mullins, who topped Jordan Moening 6-1, 6-0 and Miranda Wills, who was a 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (10-6) winner over Curtis Hughes.
