It had been 10 days since the Kenton softball team played a game, but Jenna Clum and her Kenton teammates showed no rust at the plate as the Wildcats scored 10 runs in the first two innings on the way to a 14-4 victory over Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday.

ADA — Raina England had three hits including a home run and three RBIs to lead Ada to a 10-2 win over Northwest Conference foe Bluffton in a softball matchup on Thursday. The Bulldogs led 1-0 after two innings before scoring three in the third and two more in the fifth.

FINDLAY — Hardin Northern was not able to match Liberty-Benton at the plate on Thursday as the Eagles outslugged the Polar Bears 14-4 in a non-league softball matchup. Hardin Northern started off hot, plating three runs in the top of the first inning.

NEW CARLISLE — Ben Logan held off Tecumseh 6-5 in a Central Buckeye League softball game on Thursday. The game was tied 1-1 before the Raiders plated four runs in the top of the fourth inning.

NEW CARLISLE — Cole Waugh threw a four-hit shutout, striking out 10 batters, to lead Benjamin Logan past Tecumseh 3-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball matchup on Thursday. The Raiders, who plated all three of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, racked up seven hits on the day, led by Waugh’s two singles and a double.

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf defeated Kenton 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League tennis match on Thursday afternoon. In singles action, O-G’s Craig Recker was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Andrew Boyer; Kevin Recker topped Cruz Bryant 6-0, 6-1 and Carter Welsh cruised past Hayden Robinson 6-1, 6-0.

ADA — Bluffton used a five-run fifth inning to grab the lead on the way to a 9-4 Northwest Conference baseball win over Ada on Thursday afternoon. After both teams plated single runs in the first inning, Ada took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the second frame.

WAPAKONETA — Ada swept Wapakoneta 5-0 in a non-league boys tennis match on Thursday afternoon. Claiming singles victories for the Bulldogs were Zach Beaschler, who topped Jeffrey Adkins 6-0, 6-1; Cade Mullins, who topped Jordan Moening 6-1, 6-0 and Miranda Wills, who was a 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (10-6) winner over Curtis Hughes.

The third grade Kenton Wildcat girls basketball team recently finished its season undefeated and won the championship of the Northwest Ohio Youth Basketball League.

DOLA — Riverside jumped on top early and never looked back plating runs in all five innings on the way to a 14-2 win over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game Monday afternoon. The Pirates tallied four runs in the first and five in the second to grab a 9-0 lead.
