NEW CONCORD — Nate Burger and Ryan Bruns each posted double-doubles as the Ohio Northern men's basketball team rallied from a 17-point first half deficit to claim an 82-69 victory over Muskingum on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears improve to 15-6 overall and remain in the hunt in the Ohio Athletic Conference as they improve their conference record to 10-4. The Muskies drop to 8-13, 6-8.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Ohio Northern senior Emily Richards recorded the third fastest time in Division III history and broke her own school record in the 800-meter run on Saturday afternoon as she competed in the Camel City Elite Races at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

ARLINGTON — Arlington outscored Hardin Northern in all four quarters on the way to a 76-36 victory over the Polar Bears in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday. The host Red Devils led 21-8 eight minutes into the game and 44-13 at halftime, before outscoring the Polar Bears 33-23 in the second half.

LIMA — Kenton could not have asked for a better start on Friday night, as the Wildcats jumped ahead of Shawnee 13-3 six minutes into the game. Unfortunately for the Wildcats the host Indians were able to take control on the boards and of the game, ending the half with a 25-8 run to take a five point lead into the lockerroom before pulling away in the second half for a 67-51 Western Buckeye League victory.

BELLEFONTAINE — Holding just a one-point lead over Northwestern at halftime, Benjamin Logan’s offense found its groove, putting up 17 in each of the final two quarters to take the 50-35 boys basketball win on Friday night.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — In an effort to turn their season around, the Liberty Benton boys basketball team has recently placed an emphasis on defense and defensive pressure. It showed early as the Eagles used a full court press with a trapping zone and forced 18 first-half turnovers in a 56-36 victory over Riverdale on Friday at Riverdale High School.

SPENCERVILLE — Thirty-two minutes of regulation basketball wasn’t enough to decide the Northwest Conference boys basketball game between Ada and Spencerville on Friday night. In fact, not even an additional four minutes settled the score.

WAYNESFIELD — A 23-10 halftime advantage for Upper Scioto Valley resulted in the eventual 51-37 boys basketball victory over Waynesfield-Goshen on Friday.

LIMA — The Temple Christian Pioneers proved too much for Hardin Northern to handle on Friday night, defeating the Polar Bears 72-33 in boys basketball action on Friday.

After watching a double-digit first half lead evaporate to seven points in the third quarter, the Kenton girls basketball team did something that coach Ryan Miller wanted to see on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats showed their killer instinct, outscoring the visiting Indians 15-5 over the last six minutes of the third quarter in pulling away for a 59-38 Western Buckeye League victory.
