ADA — Coldwater made quick work of Ada on Thursday, topping the Bulldogs 25-18, 25-9, 25-13 in a non-league volleyball match.

Van Wert defeated Kenton 177-191 in a Western Buckeye League golf match at Memorial Park Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.

Kenton goalkeeper Patrick Bartlett has proven he has what it takes to play at the varsity level so far in the young soccer season In the first game of his career last Friday, Bartlett made a pair of big stops in a shootout to propel Kenton past Ben Logan.

ADA — Kenton and Ada both had plenty of scoring opportunities Wednesday in a Hardin County girls soccer clash. Only the Wildcats were able to convert as they grabbed a 2-0 victory.

Last year when Kenton and Coldwater met in their football season opener, the Cavaliers returned most of their players from a state championship squad, while the Wildcats were trying to replace most of their starters from a team that made a run to the state semifinals the previous season.

Ada and Upper Scioto Valley both have aspirations of having successful football seasons this fall and making playoff runs come November.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan girls golf team defeated Indian Lake 222-251 Wednesday afternoon at Cherokee Hills.

CALEDONIA — The Ben Logan boys soccer team defeated River Valley 4-1 Wednesday night.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley picked up its first volleyball win of the season, sweeping Vanlue 25-11, 25-8, 18-17 on Wednesday night. The match was shortened due to potentially dangerous weather in the immediate area.

UPPER SANDUSKY — The Kenton girls cross country team placed ninth out of 14 teams Tuesday at the Ice Breaker Invitational and the boys finished 10th of 16 teams.
