Summer work on the pitch

Riverdale boys soccer coach Jon Hayfield brought in a different voice to talk to his players for a team camp this week, Liam Henshaw. Henshaw, originally from Nottingham, England, is part of the Challenger British Soccer Camps, which bills itself as the most popular soccer camp in the country.

Kooper Johnston putts the ball into the cup on hole No. 5 at Memorial Park Golf Course on the first day of Junior League play on Monday afternoon in Kenton. The junior league runs weekly at 4 p.m. on Mondays through Aug. 15.

Swing thoughts: July 11, 2016

The par 3 challenge for members was held Friday evening with people signing up as a twosome and then a blind draw to see whom they were paired with to get your final score. The winners of this challenge were Rob Davis and Bob Davis who were paired with Joe and Sandy Prater for a total of 108.

Off and running
