SPRINGFIELD — The Ben Logan girls bowling team defeated Springfield Shawnee 2,238-1,113 on Tuesday night. Leading the Raiders was Tayler Bryant with a high game 189 for 336 series.

KHS grapplers 4th at Bucyrus Invitational

BUCYRUS — A pair of Kenton wrestlers finished in the runner-up spot as the Wildcats finished fourth at the Bucyrus Wrestling Invitational on Saturday. Finishing in the second spot for the Wildcats was Mason Rhoades and Brian Blankenship (weights classes KHS competed in were not received).

Youth wrestling: December 12, 2017

The Kenton Youth Wrestling team started the regular season on Sunday at St. Marys with seven wrestlers winning their four-man round-robin groups. Winning their groups and going unbeaten were Evan Elliott (9 years old, 83 pounds), Robert Lawrence (6 years old, 64 pounds), Austin Root (7 years old, 53 pounds), Ronald Boyer (7 years old, 48 pounds), Anthony Hunt (11 years old, 92 pounds), Karson Davis (11 years old, 80 pounds) and Tim Wilkinson (11 years old, 160 pounds).

Coldwater used its strength in the paint to take control during the middle two quarters on the way to a 69-52 victory over host Kenton in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday night. The Wildcats, who led 12-9 after eight minutes before being outscored 41-20 over the middle two stanzas, suffered their first loss in three games this season.

ONU tops Mt. Union, sits alone atop OAC

ADA — Junior Ryan Bruns scored 30 points, while senior Nate Burger had a double-double to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to an 86-82 victory over visiting Mount Union on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears improve to 5-2 overall and stand atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings as the only remaining undefeated team at 3-0 in conference play, while the Purple Raiders drop to 6-2, 2-1.

Lady Polar Bears claim seventh straight

ALLIANCE — The No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team used a balanced offensive scoring attack to claim its seventh straight victory as the Polar Bears defeated Mount Union 63-52 Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears improve to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings, while the Purple Raiders drop to 3-5, 1-2.
