Ottoville pulls away in 2nd half to beat Ada

OTTOVILLE — Ottoville hit 10 three-pointers, including six by Ryan Bendele, in pulling away for an 83-51 victory over Ada in non-league basketball action on Saturday. The hosts led 18-13 after eight minutes and 36-26 at halftime before pulling away with a 28-14 advantage in the third quarter.

Raiders hold off W-G

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan rode a strong first half to a 66-56 victory over Waynesfield-Goshen in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday night. The Raiders jumped ahead 21-10 after eight minutes and 38-14 by halftime before holding off a second half Tiger rally for the win.

New Riegle edges Riverdale, 53-52

NEW RIEGLE —Trailing by six points at halftime, Riverdale kept its game with New Riegle close throughout the second half Saturday. The Falcons came up a point short in the end as they fell to the Blue Jackets 53-52 in the non-league boys basketball contest.

Kenton Ridge outshoots Ben Logan girls, 61-38

SPRINGFIELD — Kenton Ridge outscored Ben Logan in all four quarters, including by 11 points in the first quarter, pulling away to a 61-38 Central Buckeye Conference victory over the Raiders on Saturday. Nya Worrell scored 11 points and had 8 rebounds to lead the Raiders, who fall to 2-5 on the season with their fifth straight loss.

BELLEFONTAINE — Tied at 42 at the end of four quarters on Friday night, Benjamin Logan and Tecumseh’s boys basketball teams needed a few extra minutes to decide things. Down the stretch, it was the visiting Arrows who edged out Ben Logan by a point in the extra period, nabbing the 47-46 victory.

Strong fourth quarter lifts H-L past Falcons

BASCOM — Tied at 31 going into the fourth quarter, the Riverdale boys basketball team were edged out by Hopewell-Loudon 17-12, resulting in a 48-43 Blanchard Valley Conference loss for the Falcons. Riverdale is still in search of its first win of the season, falling to 0-3 with the loss.

Lady Wildcats fall short against Bath

The Kenton girls basketball team battled back from a nine-point third quarter deficit to take a one-point lead against Bath midway through the fourth quarter Thursday night. However, once the host Wildcats got the lead they could not get any shots to fall in the final three minutes as Bath scored the final six points to pull out a 49-44 victory in a Western Buckeye League opener.
