ONU spikers sweep into OAC semifinals

ADA — No. 18-ranked Ohio Northern swept Marietta 25-13, 25-14, 25-16 in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center. The second-seeded Polar Bears (26-4 overall) advance to the semifinals on Thursday night and will host third-seeded Mount Union at 7 p.m. at the ONU Sports Center.

ADA — Presale tickets for Friday night’s Ada High School regional quarterfinal football game at Liberty-Benton are on sale now through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the high school office. USV boosters to hold donkey basketball game Nov. 10

The Upper Scioto Valley Athletics Boosters are holding a donkey basketball game at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at the Allen East Community Center in Harrod. L-B knocks Falcons out of tournament

FINDLAY — Having lost to Liberty-Benton in the district final round three of the last four years, the Riverdale Lady Falcons soccer team looked to build on its win over the Eagles in the regular season and take the district crown. But after surrendering two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, the Falcons were unable to recover, falling to the Eagles 2-0 and putting a lid on their season.

Ada, Liberty-Benton to meet in playoffs

Ada’s football players woke up Saturday morning still not knowing if they were going make the Division VI playoffs. When everything was said and done on Saturday night, the 7-3 Bulldogs found themselves in the No. 8 spot in Region 22 and a Friday regional quarterfinal matchup at Liberty-Benton.
